"In 1954, we awakened something..." Something of unstoppable power, unthinkable fury, and unbreakable will. His name is know world over. "We call him... Gojira!" Due to his great power, Godzilla has often be pitted against other colossuses of pop-culture in Death-Battle like matchups in fanbases across the internet, seeing if he truly can hold the title of King of the Monsters against any foe in any universe. This group strives to depict the conflict between him and another Japanese set of titans in particular, the Evangelion Units from the highly-debated anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Legendary Godzilla for KaijuSamurai
The story begins in the year 2014 with Clarke Martin, the great grandson of Steve Martin, giving a college history lesson on the prehistoric monster Godzilla. He goes on to describing Godzilla's attack on Tokyo sixty years prior, and then moves on to the theory that Godzilla was a mutation spawned by atomic weapons tests in the South Pacific. After wards, his classmates all scoff and walk away, except for one. Rhonda Benedek is drawn to Martin's idea due to having nightmares about Godzilla.
Meanwhile, the terrorist group known as the Red Bamboo detonates a biological weapon in the Mariana Trench, awakening the dormant Godzilla. Led by a mysterious man known simply as Mugal, they begin to lead the creature towards the United States, antagonizing the creature with artillery fire. Project G, an underfunded organization tasked with monitoring the possibility of Godzilla returning, learns of Godzilla's advance.
Project G quickly picks up Clarke and Rhonda, bringing them back to their base i

Hello all you fellow deviants!

After a very long period of inactivity, I have finally returned with all-new Fall of the Evangelions: You Will (Not) Survive content! For months now I have been saying that the hiatus has been removed and to expect more content soon, and in some ways that was correct, but not in most. I did resubmit all the old chapters with newer version, which have ranged from minor grammar and/or spelling error fixes to complete plot alterations, but it's been a really long time since I've submitted a new chapter all together. That ends now!

For all of you who have been eagerly awaiting for new Fall of the Evangelions: You Will (Not) Survive content, your wait is finally over! The saga continues with an all-new, plot-twisting chapter that is completely different to everything that has come before it! Chapter 9 - Issues Abroad, delves into and creates a whole new dynamic and sheds light on an entirely different angle to this story that has never been revealed before! No more do we focus on the character of Neon Genesis Evangelion, nor even the Daikaiju we have all grown to love from the Godzilla universe, but now an all new cast of characters takes the stage. However, some of these characters are not really all-that new. A long while ago, I posted a few chapters from my good friend's, :iconkosmoceratops1138:, story, Hell's Fire. I did so because he was, at the time, very new to deviantART and I figured posting some of his stuff on my account would get it some popularity and get it off the ground, per say. Unfortunately, that plan failed miserably, as those posts are my least viewed, favorited AND comment on posts in my entire gallery. However, that was not the sole reason I posted them. No, the most significant reason I posted those chapters was, and kudos to anyone who saw the signs and figured it out, HELL'S FIRE IS THE PREQUEL TO FALL OF THE EVANGELIONS: YOU WILL (NOT) SURVIVE!

Yes, finally, the secret can no longer be hidden! Actually, I wanted to keep this grand secret for longer (although I'm impressed I'm been able to keep it for as long as I have), but the new plot alterations have forced me to reveal it earlier than anticipated. Oh well, I guess that's better for you guys! So yes, now there is an entirely different outlook to the story being told! Everything is about to change!

Hopefully, with this new update, I will get back into the swing of things and continue posting new chapters. Chapter 12 is already in the works and, with the backbone taken from a previous version of the plot already written, it is very close to completion. All that's left is a few modifications and some editing sessions. I expect it to be done by the end of next week, but I can't say for sure. What I can say is that, if I am really getting my act together, then expect updates fairly consistently! I'm back, baby, and Fall of the Evangelions: You Will (Not) Survive will never be the same!

In other news, my offering for artists to see if they were willing to do Fall of the Evangelions: You Will (Not) Survive promotion art has been pseudo-successful. Posted in a journal I wrote a while back ( burningg-hellonearth.deviantar… ), it gave specifications for exactly what I wanted done and how much I was willing to offer in payment if I chose said person as the official artist of the book. If anyone is still interested, please contact me. But, as of now, I have a few people who have contacted me saying they were willing to do some work, including :iconlmpkio:, :iconsketch-toons:, :iconultragwrzilla:, and :iconpaterack:, although the latter has not as of yet submitted anything on the subject, despite the fact that he is the best artist of the group. I myself have and will continue to do art promoting the cause but, as I have said before, I do not consider my art level proficient enough to to give the professional appeal I wish for this book/story/novel, whatever you want to call it. (Notice how I don't call it a fan fiction.)

Anyways, that's all for now. I will keep you guys posted as more develops. If anyone has any questions or suggestions, you know where to contact me.

Until something else major arises that requires immediate attention,
BurningG out! :peace:

Welcome all you G-fans and Eva fans out there!

It seems you have landed here in this corner of the internet! Here, we discuss the highly-disputed topic of who would win in a Death Battle-style matchup between the two most powerful creations of Japanese culture: Godzilla or the Evangelion Units. Who would win, it's hard to say sometimes but, in the end, there can be but one King of the Monsters! Skreeeongk!

I see that this group is 5 years old. To the founder: How did you feel when the Goji x Eva collaboration was anounced?

Mixed feelings is definitely a good explanation. Although, personally, I was much more apprehensive about Anno being cast at the director for Shin Godzilla (2016) than for the collaboration itself--and I stand by those doubts, as I'm still very much not sold on Shin Godzilla's hideous design--but there was definitely some conflict. As much as I want there to be a crossover of some kind, I also don't want them to do something stupid with it. As far as it's gone, they haven't made any controversial material (showing either Godzilla or one of the Evas in a position of power, with perhaps the only notable exception being here: redking69.deviantart.com/art/g… ), but they have made some questionable merchandise (such as the Godzilla/Eva morph statues that just look like atrocities of man that never deserve to see the light.) Anyways, perhaps that is just my own opinion on the matter.

Overall, I find what they're doing to fun and creative, nothing too serious or controversial. However, I think the implications that it might have could be the later. If they did decided to do an anime or the like crossing over the two series (which is a possibility, as Godzilla is coming out with his first ever anime film this year), they would have to tread lightly with what they did. Of course, as this group may suggest, I would want Godzilla to win in such a battle (and expect nothing less) but I know that that is not a universal opinion and the Eva fanbase would be up in arms if Godzilla won. Likewise, people like me and the rest of the kaiju fanbase would be up in arms if Godzilla lost and the Evas won. It's the same problem that the upcoming Legendary Godzilla Vs. King Kong (2020) film will have to overcome. When you collide two fanbases in a VS style, there are going to be some people that want one to win, and others that want the other to win and, since films and the like are a money-making business, alienating approximately half of your audience with having one side win is not desirable. We've seen this time and time again. Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) did that, and a lot of people condoned the film for having a "cop-out" ending, but even more would have been pissed if, say, Batman has actually "killed" Superman. Even the original King Kong Vs. Godzilla (1962), despite Toho coming out and saying that King Kong technically won, in the film itself has a very ambiguous and up for debate ending. Yeah, King Kong is the only monster seen swimming away, but Godzilla lives in the sea. Having him fall in and not come out is by no means meaning he is defeated. Plenty of other films of his have done similar things. Point being, I'm torn between whether I want anything more serious than funny merchandise to be released in this crossover line. Personally, I think that Godzilla's steady course upwards with not only the Legendary universe but also the Toho universe as well as a possible third anime universe is great for the character and he doesn't need anything else. This may be the biggest he's been since the 60s, so I don't want to push for more than what we've already good. It's good enough already; no need to give more with a serious possibility of utter disappointment.

I see. I enjoyed this collab, since it's 2 of my favorite franchises. I also think that Anno did an amazing job with the movie.

Most people do think Anno did a good job. I mean, to be fair, objectively, Shin Gojira (2016) is quite a fantastic film and is very well done. It has significantly more ups than downs--all categories assed--and is probably one of the better Godzilla films of all time. That's saying a lot for me, of all people, to say that. However, I absolutely abhor the new Godzilla design, and it really kills the film for me. Kind of how people who didn't like the M.U.T.O.s could never get behind Godzilla (2014), even if they thought it was a good movie. I mean, of course, I will always support it and will look forward to the sequel, but that is more so because I want Godzilla to live on versus THIS incarnation of Godzilla to live on. He's honestly so vastly different from any other incarnation of Godzilla that he could be considered a different monster if you wanted to. Metaphorically, he couldn't, but he physically could. Godzilla (2014) may not be half the film Shin Gojira (2016), but I will probably always like it more simply because it feels like Godzilla, whereas Shin Godzilla feels like a whole different thing. I get that characters develop and evolve over time and that this is likely Godzilla's next (and possibly permanent) evolution in the line, but I will always be a sucker for the classics. In my opinion, original Goji is best Goji. End of story.

As for Evangelion, again, despite the fact that I can agree that it was well made and thought out (despite serious time and budget constraints which made it go to shit more than once), I will never be able to say I support Evangelion. I had a very negative experience with the show when I was younger, and it's the reason why I have been so hostile towards the show as a whole. Even when rewatching it when I was older, the interesting and in-depth plot is really not enough to redeem it. Of course, this is just my opinion--and a minority, at that--so who am I to say?

Anyways, despite these personal opinions of mine, I do enjoy the collaboration and am certainly ecstatic about Godzilla's newfound resurgence in not only Japan but also the US. He seems to have a long and prosperous future ahead of him, and I'm very grateful for it, as we haven't gotten a serious influx of Godzilla since the early 2000s.

I have to make one more comment, because this group is just so fascinating. Despite the kinda creepy obsession with killing fictional characters, I notice that this group actually features lots of work which shows Godzilla and Evangelion on equal footing. Some pics don't even show the Evas in any peril, and a few pics show them being badass along with kaiju.

Another interesting note is that besides a handful of artists, most of the artwork here which does fixate on the Evas losing was done by one person. The vast majority of it, honestly.

Sorry. Just stuff I noticed. It's an interesting group.

Frankly, I fan any interest in My Little Pony to be far more disturbing. Besides, I have qualms about killing demons.

What I find ironic is that this group was originally designed to be a very Eva-hate-centered place where only Godzilla crushing the Evas hands down artwork, stories, or comments were accepted. That was over four years ago, and times have changed drastically. Now, on the cusp of an all-new Toho Godzilla film coming out, an official merchandise promotion line is being created featuring Godzilla Vs Evangelion. What's more, with my further-and-further involvement into my own novel, Fall of Evangelion: You Will (Not) Survive (which may receive another name change in the soon future (to be explained later)), I've grown a newfound respect for the show which I originally grew to loath. Now, bare in mind, I still don't like the show, and it's scarring memories on my childhood (where I watched it at an age where it was clearly not appropriate... because of Godzilla...) will haunt me forever, but I've grown to respect what the creators did. They actually did manage to create a really good universe with a very complex and intriguing story. Now, yes, the characters are terrible and they all deserve to die, but most people in real life are like that, so maybe I should stop complaining about how bad the characters are and commend the creators for how accurate they depicted them to be. I also need to grow to accept that the director of Neon Genesis Evangelion is now working on Shin Gojira (Godzilla Resurgence for all the Americans), which is a fact that has worried me ever since I first heard about the movie's production under his name. I can't say for sure whether he'll do a good job, but the new Godzilla design that he's okayed already worried me a bit, so I'm not sure I hold too high hopes, but it is Godzilla, so maybe I should give him more of a break. Anyways, my point is, I believe this place has changed a lot from what it once was, and I believe it's name deserves to change as well. Sadly, deviantART has ensured that that is indeed not possible...

When I first learned about you guys, I thought you were all creepy geeks who were obsessed with this very specific and slightly disturbing passion for Godzilla and killing Evas.

... And honestly, you guys still are that. It's just so... weird. And I don't even like Evangelion. It's just so incredibly weird and disturbing that there's a group who spends their life obsessing on something so specific and so unimportant.

But it's interesting that your views have changed. I've seen Evangelion, and I knew from the beginning that the characters are unlikable. In the end though, the important is not whether or not the characters are likable, but whether or not the story is good. Heck, everyone loves Godzilla, but a lot of those people forget that Godzilla is often either a villain or that he loses/needs others' help in multiple movies. Godzilla isn't a likable character in most movies. He's a monster who kills people. But his movies, his great movies, and the message behind the monsters, are what really make Godzilla shine.
